Weekend at the Beach - Part One

Last weekend, we took a trip to the beach with my family to celebrate my dad's birthday and also just to get away and have some fun. :) We went to Stone Harbor, NJ (where we always go) and stayed at my step-aunt and uncle's house. Saturday, we went to the Cape May County Zoo, which was awesome, because the cooler weather meant a lot of the animals were out and active. The only disappointment was that we hoped to see some Kookaburras, and they weren't in their cages. We explained to Claire that the Kookaburras must be on vacation, like we were. I said that maybe they took a vacation to Harrisburg and tried to visit us, but we weren't home either. She accepted the answer and we moved on. To see why we were so interested in the Kookaburras, click here.

Here are some pictures from the zoo.

This camel looked like it was about to spit, so I quickly took the picture and ran away!

After the zoo, we went into "town" in Stone Harbor to check out a boat show and seafood festival. Claire took some interest in a few of the boats. Thankfully, they were on the lower end cost-wise (compared to the $50,000 speedboats).
